Adjustments to Overseas Campus Special Editions in the Year 2000

The past six issues of Special Editions have been targeted at Reaching toward the truth and growing in the spirit. They were designed to help beginners establish their foundations as Christian believers. During the past three years, many readers have changed from being beginners into being active participants in churches or fellowships. Still others have become part-time or full-time church leaders.

After much prayer and collecting of suggestions from our readers, we have decided to make significant adjustments in the direction and contents of Special Editions starting from the Year 2000. Major adjustments are:

  • Our aim: to communicate the testimony of Christian Overseas Chinese Intellectuals in the 21st century.
  • Our specific goals:

    2. Unity and direction: analysis, discussion and identification of the past, present and future of Chinese churches, in conjunction with the testimonies and experiences of Chinese Christians from Mainland China;
    3. Spiritual leadership training: providing necessary training for potential Christian leaders, and encouraging communication and inter-action between them;
    4. Promotion of spiritual growth: providing teaching and testimonies to promote spiritual growth among Chinese scholars.
  • Style:
    1. we want to focus on intellectuality, practicality and readability;
    2. we want to engage in spiritual dialogues, in conjunction with prophetic vision, pastoral integrity and brotherly fellowship;
    3. we will offer both depth of thought and reader-friendliness, in styles combining spirituality, warmth of feeling and intellectual integrity.
